In other words, your letter should address the job requirements laid out by the hiring manager. Here’s how you can do that.

First paragraph: Introduce yourself with a hook and list your best achievements

You should start out with an introduction that has some kind of hook. Note that the applicant starts with a short story, talking about how she’s helped over 1,500 people get permanent residency in the UK, and this is the most fulfilling part of her job. This anecdote shows that you’re connected to your job. This immediately puts you over many other job seekers, as a recruiter wants to hire someone who’s going to be there for years to come.

Second paragraph: Provide more information about how you’re the best fit for the job

Now that you’ve gotten the hiring manager’s attention, you can give more information about why they should hire you over someone else.
